My final year project is Re-Fresh, a mobile refill distribution service that focuses on sustainability and aims to reduce plastic production by encouraging an increase in plastic reuse.
Re-Fresh is an ice-cream van/fish van-style approach to tackling the issues with reusable packaging. By selling products, street by street, on electric vendor vans, it makes it more convenient for consumers to refill their products closer to home where their empty packaging is.
Instead of a wall of hundreds of plastic bottles being made the products are placed in larger, reusable containers that are used to transport and transfer the products from manufacturers to customers. When the containers are empty, they are simply sent back to be refilled over and over.
This solution benefits both customers and manufacturers as neither are having to pay for more plastic bottles. By reusing plastic packaging responsibly, we can use its long-lasting capabilities to our advantage.
